Constitution

I. Name

The name of the organization shall be International Circle of Korean Linguistics.

II. Purpose

The aim of the Circle shall be to:

1. Promote Korean language and linguistics among those engaged in the field;

2. Disseminate information about Korean language and linguistics to the general public as well as to scholars in the field;

3. Facilitate communication among scholars in Korean language and linguistics.

III. Membership

Membership will be open to those who are interested in Korean language and linguistics.

The annual membership fee shall be shall be established by the By-laws.

IV. Officers

The officers of the Circle shall be President, Vice President, Secretary General, Treasurer, Officers for Research Planning, Information & Public Relations, and Publications. The President will be elected for a term of two years, but not be re-elected consecutively for anther term. Aside from presidency, all the officers will be appointed by the President.

V. Meetings

Meetings shall be called by the President. Voting power shall be lodged in members present or represented at the meeting.

VI. Amendments

The constitution may be amended by the majority vote of all the members in good standing.
