The official journal of the ICKL, Korean Linguistics, is a refereed publication and issued biennially. Ho-min Sohn was its editor until 1994, when Joe J. Ree of Florida State University, took over the editorship. (I do not have all the copies of the journal in front of me--but you should be easily able to identify who the editors were before Sohn). Gerald B. Mathias was the editor for Newsletter Numbers 1, 2, and 3. John Whitman was the Newsletter editor for its Numbers 4 through 11 until 1994. Since 1995 the ICKL Newsletter no longer is produced on paper but only electronically. David James Silva of the University of Texas at Arlington has served as the ICKL e-newsletter editor.

There has been a special ICKL publication produced in conjunction with a special symposium on the Korean writing system, organized simultaneously with the 8th ICKL at The George Washington University. King Sejong the Great: the Light of Fifteenth Century Korea, edited by Young-Key Kim-Renaud, 1992, Washington, DC: The International Circle of Korean Linguistics, is a popular book which was reprinted twice, once with a slight revision in 1997, and with a luxury edition in Seoul by Sin'gu Munhwasa in 1998 with a Korean translation of the English original. With the proceeds, Young-Key Kim-Renaud, the editor of the book and a former ICKL President, has established two endowments. One of them is within the International Circle of Korean Linguistics to promote Korean linguistic research and the other at The George Washington University to offer Korean language scholarships to students learning Korean as a foreign language.

In 2,000, the ICKL Fund has provided partial subsidy for a newly launched journal, Studies in Seoul Korean, edited by Sang-Oak Lee. Its first issue appeared in Spring 2000 (Seoul: Pak-I-jong Press). I think a kind of prize research subsidy was provided by the ICKL fund to a junior scholar for a Phonology-Morphology journal published by the Phonology Research group in Seoul (Please ask Sang-Oak Lee for details).

We have also produced proceedings from the Oslo meeting (2002), the Berlin meeting (2003), the Turkey/Antalya meeting (2004), and the New Delhi-Seoul meeting (2005). Selected papers from the Oslo and Antalya meetings resulted in two publications: (1) Exploitations in Korean Linguistics (edited by Gregory Iverson, University of Wisconsin, 2002) and (2) Inquiries into Korean Linguistics I (edited by Sang-Oak Lee, Seoul National Univ., 2004). Sang-Oak Lee proposed to hold a small mid-term conference between the biennial conferences, since there were concerns that its members were becoming unfamiliar because the regular meeting is held every even-numbered year. These also resulted in two publications: (3) Korean &/or Corpus Linguistics Proceedings of ICKL-TU Berlin International Conference on Korean Linguistics, 21-22 July 2003 (edited by Sang-Oak Lee, 2003) and (4) The 30th Anniversary Publication of ICKL: Chomsky's Minimalist Program and Optimality Theory applied to Korean (edited by Sang-Oak Lee, 2005).

Selling "King Sejong the Great: the Light of Fifteenth Century Korea," edited by Young-Key Kim-Renaud (1992, Washington, DC: The International Circle of Korean Linguistics), has entailed an endowment.
